Welcome To The Inonoaklin Virtual Museum
This digital collection was produced with support from Canada's Digital Collections Initiative, Industry Canada. The Inonoaklin Virtual Museum is a project which set out to record a history of the community of Edgewood. Edgewood and Fire Valley have faced many challenges to their existence. Due to the formation of the Canadian and United States border, the native band that once hunted and fished the area was trapped in the United States. Developers convinced whole communities of people to sell their property abroad and move here, only to find uncleared land without steady water supplies and no way to make a living. The town site itself had to be moved when the Keenlyside Dam was constructed and the original town site was flooded and destroyed.

Through these events and more our community has found ways to survive, and mold a unique place for itself in the wilderness of the Canadian West. We hope you enjoy our story.
